Attera Launches South Asia Assistance Fund
With authorisation from Prime Minister Johanns fonn Klosso, the ASAAF's goal is to raise "to raise at least US$200 to help alleviate the crisis in South and Southeast Asia", a target believed to be reasonable and achievable given the financial status of the majority of Atterans.
Donations will be forwarded via Catholic Relief Services in Baltimore and are being co-ordinated by Charles Beard, who said: "All micronationalists, of every country or macronationality, are invited to participate in ASAAF's fundraising drive. While the donation will be made in the name of the Solomonic Empire of Attera, the micronations of all who participate will be mentioned in the letter I send to CRS. I implore you, for the sake of those who are suffering, to consider making a donation to ASAAF."
He added: "I believe ASAAF's work can help build bridges between micronations and micronationalists, but more importantly, with those who are suffering, and do not have the luxury of micronationalism."
Molossia Bans Smoking
In defence of the ban, President Kevin Baugh stated: "Smoking is a blight upon the world, a dangerous vice that has no place in an enlightened society. The Current American Leader said a few years ago, 'there is such a thing as too much freedom', and in this rare case I agree with him. Smoking is a freedom our nation does not need."
Transgressors face an instant fine, and expulsion if they are visiting the country. Current Molossians are not expected to be affected as none of them smoke. The ban only applies to all uses of tobacco, not to any other similar substances, and is applicable both in public and in private.

Micronations Hit the Blogospheric Radar!
Meanwhile, Micronations.Net itself was the featured subject of Bruce Eisner's Vision Thing, the personal blog of writer and psychologist Bruce Eisner, on December 26th, while micronations themselves were proposed as a new "industry" for the Blogshares fantasy blog shares market.

Adelwin, Aerlig- EIFA has now opened applications to host the 2004/05 EIFA World Cup, billed as the biggest micronational sporting event in history. Interested nations should visit the EIFA HQ.
Halberd Lighthouse, Treesia- Die again, live again Treesia has celebrated its fourth anniversary, a colossal achievement for any nation. Babkha helped celebrate by slaughtering one thousand Mondesians.
MicroXchange2 Set to Trade Soon
Lemuria- Legislatures and financial experts around the world are bracing themselves for the impending launch of MicroXchange2, which could revolutionise the micronational econo-sphere.
When the original PHP MicroXchange was launched to great acclaim last year, a large number of nations flocked to the system, which enabled them to transfer currency between nations at the click of a button. The system automatically calculated exchange rates and was hailed as the next sliced bread. However, it wasn't long before it came crashing to the ground, causing wide spread economic chaos (read: inactivity).
The production team of MicroXchange2, led by programming guru Sander Dieleman, has almost completed the new system. With an expanded array of features including private messaging, calculators and a snazzy control panel (as opposed to just a nifty one), the team is hoping that a number of nations will move their banks to the system.
New Bureaucracy to Handle Bureaucracy
The new ministry has already suffered some teething problems, with the forums created in Spanish. Perhaps it was the work of some bitter employees at the streamlined Ministry of the Interior.

EIFA Tri Nations GF Rematch Produces a Winner!
They weren't to be disappointed either. The match got off to a blazing start, with a Babkhan goal in the first five minutes sending the crowd wild. When the Atterans quickly replied, a deafening roar echoed through the stadium. A scuffle broke out between a number of Babkha and Atteran nationals in the Eastern Stand after Babkha put away two more goals to take the lead 3-1, but with those fans removed the crowd went back to focusing on the game to notice that the Atterans had shot away to 3-4. The teams went back and forward scoring before the end of the first half, levelling the scores at 8 all.
The Babkha defence in the second half proved too much for the Atterans however, who only managed to score 2 goals in response to Babkha's 4.
With Babkha's win in this Tourney they have risen to 11th in the World Rankings, just below Navland and Cranda. Additional points to Attera sent it above New Macadam, while Aerlig was bumped up one place above Karnali to second.
EIFA is certainly heating up, with more action soon to come including the Champions Cup and the October Karnalian Tournament, all before the World Cup in three months time!

The Olympic Report
In his speech, Scott spoke about the unifying power of sports in general and the Olympics in particular. The event had brought some nations (that we otherwise might never have heard about, such as Natopia and Mahina) closer to the micronational community, even if the major part of this community was absent from the Olympics.
The primary goal of the Olympics is not politics, though, but sport. The original plans contained both physical sports and mind sports - the first everyone could hold in their own backyards (if it they were large enough for a 3,000m parcours), the mind games such as Reversi and Chess were to be held online. Since there are no results shown for these, it is doubtful these events ever took place. The physical sports (frisbee throwing, tennisball throwing, 3000m running and 100m running) did take place, and according to the true Olympic spirit no-one cheated on the times or misjudged the distances. The non-running events were a clear victory for the Natopians, who also had the largest number of participants. Further details of the results can be found in the preceding article.
The lack of publicity surrounding this event is a pity, even more so since it was good opportunity for micronationalists to get some physical exercise instead of sitting in front of a computer all day. Apparently one journal was intended to be the official news publisher for the Games, but in the end this never materialised, while the Olympic Committee forum in Shireroth gave the impression that the Games just fizzled out. Let us hope, though, that this event will continue in the future, because it is an excellent initiative.
Natopia Sweeps the Boards at the Olympics
There were five "offline" (physical) events at the Games this year, namely Discus (with Frisbee), Shot Put (with Tennis Ball), the 100 Metre Run, the 3,000 Metre Run, and the Long Jump. There were also five "online" (mind) events: Yahoo Reversi, Yahoo Checkers, Yahoo Chess, Monopoly and Risk. However, we assume that most of these did not take place, as the official results have only been published for four of the "offline" events, and we can't tell you when, exactly, these events took place, as no dates and times for them have been published.
But all this should not detract from the fact the micronational world's best atheletes did take part in physical events, and did very well in them, although of course some did better than others. The official results are as follows:
Discus (with Frizbee)
Her Honor Sherry Lochhaas (Natopia) - 84 feet (Gold)
His Supremacy Aaron Pavletich (Natopia) - 75 feet (Silver)
His Sovereign Excellency Nathan Shepard (Natopia) - 56 feet (Bronze)
His Excellency President Kevin Baugh (Molossia) - 52 feet
His Royal Majesty Bryan (Mahina) - 51 feet
His Honor Craig Billmeyer (Natopia) - 33 feet
Shot Put (with Tennis Ball)
His Supremacy Aaron Pavletich (Natopia) - 123 feet (Gold)
His Honor Craig Billmeyer (Natopia) - 98 feet (Silver)
Her Honor Sherry Lochhaas (Natopia) - 83 feet (Bronze)
His Sovereign Excellency Nathan Shepard (Natopia) - 82 feet
His Royal Majesty Bryan (Mahina) - 71 feet, 6 inches
His Royal Majesty Samuel (Navland) - 70 feet, 2 inches
His Excellency President Kevin Baugh (Molossia) - 56 feet
100m Run
Brandon Baker (Navland) - 13.79 seconds (Gold)
His Royal Majesty Samuel (Navland) - 15.11 seconds (Silver)
His Royal Majesty Bryan (Mahina) - 21.23 seconds (Bronze)
3000m Run
President Radu Chinan (Gabilonia) - 16 min 18 sec (Gold)
His Royal Majesty Bryan (Mahina) - 20 min 14 sec (Silver)
The final medal tally was as follows:
Natopia - 6 (2 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze)
Navland - 2 (1 Gold, 1 Silver)
Mahina - 2 (1 Silver, 1 Bronze)
Gabilonia - 1 (1 Gold)

The End of Menelmacar
In his final speech, Ric Lyon, probably the only person who had citizenship in all incarnations of the micronation, referred to the hopeful start of the new nation in the summer of 2002 and to its long and slow downfall during the following year. His speech was written in Tolkienian style, in accordance with the theme of the micronation. Finally he addressed the new inhabitants of the land that Menelmacar once occupied on the MCS map: "My last hopes remain in the new rulers of Fëanoria, that they will toil the barren land, and make her once more bloom in all splendour. Blessings I give to the friends in the Red Antilles of the Fëanorian Isles." Ironically he ended the speech in the OAM forum with "peace and somemen", a phrase contributed to Archetype23, former arch-enemy of this part of Menelmacar.
It is not certain that Ric Lyon had the authority to declare the end of Menelmacar, as he officially resigned his citizenship on the 25th of February this year. However, it is unlikely that anybody cares enough to contest his declaration.

League Spreads Out Across the Field
Four teams once again failed to turn up, although rumours of invasions or revolutions just to get them to play have been dismissed as idle fantasies.

IFNA to Launch News Accreditation Scheme
The proposed scheme, passed with the support of IFNA members, will certify publications that achieve a minimum standard of content, editing, grammar, punctuation and spelling. Publications will be monitored at regular periods and a special public accreditation noticeboard will be established to inform publications of corrections that need to be made in order for them to achieve full accreditation.
The scheme is expected to be launched by the end of the month.
Sovereign Order Finally Chooses Its Chairman
Dornan founded and led the original Barony of Treesia and Fabon in October 2000, when the world looked very different, and is currently Prime Minister of Attera. He was elected from a list of three candidates, which included former cleric J John Herueus and Grand Chancellor Sir Iain de Vembria.
Chairman Dornan was unavailable for comment at time of press, but he is expected to fulfil his duties with as much dedication as he gave to Treesia as Ard-Baron, and without unduly impinging on all the other things he gets up to, which you can read all about in his no-holds-barred Livejournal.
No-show Teams Fail to Spoil First Games
Last season's lyrical commentator Baruch O'Shaughnessy also failed to make an appearance, thus sharing the embarrassment of a no-show with the Baden Tigers, FC Attera Imperial, the Gotzborg Eagles and Redstar Bandera. EMSL Head Honcho Jouker Sendler reminded the teams that plays can be submitted for all the matches in advance, so the team managers have no excuses for failing to show up with their teams in time for each match.
This season's league has features 22 match days, plays every Friday and ends in the New Year. The results for the first match are as follows:
Trishuli Xtremes - 3, Adelwin Power - 1
Mayo Sportistinda - 3, FC Attera Imperial - 0
Baden Tigers - 0, The Dynamo - 3
Wizards SC Westmore - 5, Vayelon Firewolves - 3
Gotzborg Eagles - 0, DRAs Capitalist Shmazerz - 3
Redstar Bandera - 0, Halberd Harriers - 3
The league table stands thus:
1. Halberd Harriers - 3 points
2. DRAs Capitalist Shmazerz - 3 points
3. The Dynamo - 3 points
4. Mayo Sportistinda - 3 points
5. Wizards SC Westmore - 3 points
6. Trishuli Xtremes - 3 points
7. Vayelon Firewolves - 0 points
8. Adelwin Power - 0 points
9. Baden Tigers - 0 points
10. Gotzborg Eagles - 0 points
11. Redstar Bandera - 0 points
12. FC Attera Imperial - 0 points
The next matches take place on Friday 17th September.
Formula Z Finishes With a Flourish
In his acceptance speech, Andarosel broke down in tears as he thanked "my team, the organisation committee of Formula Z and the MML, the nations who hosted the tracks,... my pet sandworm, my parents and other family, the university for wasting their bandwidth, the guys who developed HTML, PHP and MySQL, Brattain and Bardeen for building the first transistor, James Maxwell for developing the electromagnetic theory, and, finally, Extreme007 for not discovering how to win races before halfway through the season."
Formula Z is a motorracing simulation that was launched in the wake of the growing success of other micronational sports, particularly association football, and has achieved a remarkably consistently high level of participation for each race. Charles II said of it: "Formula Z is an enjoyable respite from stuffy government offices, heated debates, and diplomatic activities. It is an engagement in which people from all over micronations come together to challenge others, themselves and participate in something that is fun."
Races were held in seven micronations in this year: Attera, Aerlig, Babkha, Prya, Istvanistan, S.O. Treesia and Gotzborg.

MNN Unveils Revamped News Service
The original javascript-based aggregator has been completely replaced following an increasing number of compatability and reliability issues. The new system is entirely PHP-based and was created by Sander Dieleman, using a PHP RSS parser called LastRSS, and with original feeds additionally processed by FeedBurner to be as accessible as possible.
New features include source names showing with each headline, and an automated list of sources that automatically updates itself when news weblogs are inactive for more than a month. Additionally, there is a new "News on Your Site" script that automatically updates itself for both headlines and sources.
MNN head Iain de Vembria said: "We are very pleased with the performance and flexiblity of the new system and are particularly grateful to Sander Dieleman for his tireless work behind the scenes. The micronational community will benefit greatly from our enhanced service."

News Shorts (4 August 2004) (8 Shorts)
Attera - The EIFA AtterCup concluded last week with the team from Navland taking home the trophy, beating World Cup winners Karnali in the final.
Attera - Attera celebrated its 25th Anniversary a couple of days ago. Happy birthday from all of us at the Inquisitor!
Babkha/Attera - The Babkhan/Atteran cold war of the past three years has finally concluded with the signing of the Argaath Perez Accords.
Shireroth - Shireroth's Landsraad is currently on a week's break to allow things to settle down and give people a break from the current law making frenzy. The nations legislature looks set to settle the chicken-in-the-lawbook debate when it returns.
Shireroth - The Shirerithians are underway with planning for a face-to-face conference of Shirerothian affairs. Events such as a meeting of the Landsraad and performance of the micronational classic Mogbeth are set to take place on Labour Day weekend (whenever that might be ;)).
Panzerland - The nation run by the guy with the fantastic Stalag13.com email address is considering making Slobovia a protectorate of itself. Discussions are underway between Slobovia's President Thompson and the Panzerlandian Kaiser about the arrangements.
Panzerland - Panzerland is roaring onto the MN scene with its German-themed forum. The Waffenwerks are swinging into production, so before their heads get too big drop into the nation (http://p205.ezboard.com/bpanzerland) and stop a Blitzkreig. Hail Wulf!
Shireroth - The Olympic Games are just nine days away, and so are the micronational equivalent. Discussion is still occurring over whether Monopoly will be included in the final program, but it looks like ten nations will compete in the tournament.
English Soccer Takes Off Again
Adelwin, Aerlig- The two English Soccer Leagues, EIFA (National Teams) and EMSL (Club teams) have again kicked off, with the relaunch of EIFA and the launching of the third season of the EMSL.
EIFA recently concluded the AtterCup tournament in Attera, seeing two new nations joining the association. With the conclusion of the tournament EIFA also launched a new website and ranking system, available online at www.mncentre.net/eifa/. The new ranking system is designed to make the league more accountable, being based on points and ranks of different tournaments.
Planning is currently underway for the upcoming EIFA Champions Cup to be hosted by the Sovereign Order of Treesia, where the Association's top six teams will battle it out to try and improve their ranking position.
The EMSL is also restarting in September, with the league currently taking team registrations for the season. Teams interested in registering should head to the EMSL website at http://www.joachimseitz.de/aerlig/emsl/.
SanderNation V: Meet Lemuria
Lemuria - Baracãon citizen and the man behind the phrase "SanderNation" Sander Dieleman recently chalked up another mark next to the title, with the creation of the new Empire of Lemuria. Lemuria, based on the southern brother of the well-known missing continent of Atlantis, is designed to be a cultural nation picking up where other nations left off.
The nation's constitutional convention is already well underway, along with its citizenship drive. The three week old nation is already boasting five citizens, with a number of them being new to micronations.
The constitutional convention looks soon to wrap up, with participants finalising their ideas over the nation's proposed families scheme and the legislative rules. To have your say before it's too late, drop by the nation's forums at http://sander.domainmultitude.com/lemuriaforums/
Aerlig Amends The Constitution
Adelwin, Aerlig- After the failed merger attempt with the United Baronies earlier in the year, Aerlig has finally passed a new constitution which should allow proposed amendments such as the merger to go ahead in the future.
The amended constitution, only the third time it has been changed since Aerlig's establishment in 2002, was decreed into action by Protector Lachlan Powers on the 26th after it passed a unanimous vote by referendum.
Other alterations to the constitution will also pave the way for the long needed ability to remove citizenships from inactive citizens, some of whom have been on Aerlig's citizenship rolls from day one and have not returned. The powers of the Protector of the Republic have also been further clarified, with the Protector no longer the people's Protector, but that of the whole nation.

MNN to Restrict News Weblogs
A spokesman said: "This restriction has regrettably been put in place due to a previously unknown limit on the number of active feeds that we can carry at any one time. While measures have been taken to seperately archive dormant feeds, we currently only have space for three more news weblogs, and one of those spaces has already been reserved. We would therefore encourage people who still wish to enter the field of micronational journalism to consider becoming regular correspondents for existing publications as an alternative to starting their own."
The English-language micronational news scene has changed unrecognisably over the past few months following improvements earlier this year to Blogger, which started including RSS syndication as a standard feature of its free weblogs. This led to a rapid transformation from there being a handful of static national and regional newspapers to over thirty news weblogs. However, the rate of creation has noticably slowed over the past month, as analysts expect that saturation-point has almost been reached, with most active micronations having at least one publication.

All Your Spies Are Belong To Us
Now, this all being interesting enough in itself, one might think that the story ends here, but in fact, the story has not begun. The real story is that Thoenen is this "Bruce". While admitted personally, the public proof of this is for anyone to take a look at the Ezbaord profile of "Revolution2020", and you will see that this person has the email address of this "Bruce", yet the same AIM screen name as Thoenen. He claims that he "intended to be caught", although this is arguable whether that is true, or simply Thoenen trying to save some of his dignity.

News Shorts (28/06/04)
Shireroth/Feianova Tensions flared at forums across the microworld after it was claimed this week that Feianovan agents were infiltrating Antica's forums. Babkha, Shireroth, MNN and Feianovan forums all had threads with more than two pages arguing over the unfolding events. Things seem to have settled down now, with Shirerothian citizens now arguing over wether they despise Amerada or Cyberia more, and how crappy their forums are.
Cyberia- Cyberia has decided to join the MCS Map, after what appears to be a long time not on it. They have requested, however, that should they leave, their part of the map go with them.
New Prime Minister for Aerlig
Mr Dobson was dismissed from the Office of the Prime Minister by Protector Lachlan Powers this week, after the Protector called for a new vote of confidence due to the Prime Ministers inactivity. Mr Dobson, who has claimed the post from Mr Powers just weeks before in a 3-2 vote of parliament, was replaced with the unanimous election of newcomer Zachery Klass as the nations Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Klass was quick to move the government into gear, appointing his cabinet of ministers in just a few days. Former Prime Minister Powers, the Leader of the Opposition, was awarded with the Deputy Prime Ministership, while National Party Member Jouker Sendler was granted the Internal Affairs Portfolio. New MP Thoenen Helios has taken up the position as Aerlig's Minister of External Affairs.
The Protector announced later in the week that a by-election may soon be held to fill the vacancy left in Parliament by inactive member Dobson.
EIFA AtterCup Kicks Off This Week
To be battled out between Aerlig, Feianova, Attera, Treesia, Navland and Karnali, the cup is running in a round robin tournament out of Attera's shiny new Rasnet Group Stadium. The first game will kick off on Friday evening between Attera and Aerlig, while Feianova battles reigning World Cup Champions Karnali. Newcomer Navland will then face off against the football heavyweights from Treesia.
Aerlig swears in new Protector
Crowds lined the streets of the nations new capital, Adelwin, to cheer the hometown citizen, who will be the first person from the capital city to serve in the nations top job. The ceremony saw a procession up the cities main street, Republic Drive, terminating at the top of the hill with the Oath of Office at Statesman House, the Aerlig National Parliament. Prime Minister Zachery Klass congratulated the new leader, wishing him the best of luck.
Mr Powers fills the position which has been largely vacant over the past four to five months, and is one of just two remaining original citizens of the Republic. Protector Powers immediately issued a statement drawing the Central Court under the power of the Protector, as is allowed under the constitution.

The Helios Scandal
On June 24th, the Dinarchy of Antica published allegations that citizen Theonen Helios, was involved in efforts on behalf of Feianova to cause a general war against Antica. To this end Helios is alleged to have fed the Kingdom of Babkha false information concerning the imminence of an Antican attack on the Babkhan infrastructure. The Babkhan Shah responded to the Antican allegations by acknowledging that his government had been aware that Helios was involved in spreading disinformation but declined to elaborate.
It appears that Helios was caught after separate investigations by the Antican Intelligence Service and the Imperial Babkhan Army into alleged “papel Ethan Aster and a “dodgy dossier provided by Thoenen Helios were linked by the Shirerithian intelligence agency SHINE.
In Babkha the allegations have been deemed serious enough to merit legal proceedings being brought against Helios. In Kamalshahr the bureaucracy has been assembling over the weekend the mechanisms for a trial. With Associate Justice Ardashir Osmani binding over Helios to keep the peace in the Kingdom of Babkha, until such time as his case is brought to trial, and the Shah inviting a neutral third party to take the post of Director of Public Prosecution on a 30-day contract, it is reported from contacts in the Babkhans Vizierate of Home Affairs that an indictment might be issued as soon as next Monday (June 28th).
Thoenen Helios has resigned all Micronational citizenships in an attempt to head off retribution and has also published apparent confession. Nonetheless critics of teh impending legal action against Helios have questioned whether Babkha has any jurisdiction in this matter as the accused is now no longer a Babkhan. However, sources close to the Shahyiar Palace have countered by pointing out that crimes alleged to have occurred while a person was a Babkhan citizen still need to be addressed by the court to, firstly, assert the supremacy of the law and, secondly, to confirm one way or another the accused's innocence or guilt.
The Helios scandal has, moreover, caused some confusion in Babkha, with the Supreme Court having issued an order stopping the declaration of Thoenen Helios as a traitor. Most bizarrely, Grand Vizier Rakesh Ackbar, who made the original petition that led to the ruling, appeared to be petitioning against his own government, which in turn responsibility in some part for the administration of Babkha’s ezboard. There have been some calls for his resignation if he intends to be, as is speculated, Thoenen Helios’ defence council, on the grounds of a conflict of interest that might well arise from the head of government defending a former citizen accused of betraying that selfsame government.
What is unclear is the extent to which other Feianovan dual citizens in Babkha were aware or involved in the alleged occurrences. If their invlovement was as extensive as the Anticans claim, the possible rogue activities of one individual could soon become clouded in a major Intermicronational crisis.
The case continues...

Molossian Military Academy Reopens
The Academy, the only institution of its type online, is dedicated to providing academic military training to those individuals that are involved in or may be seeking a military career, especially in the micronational world. The program is free of charge, and provides a certificate of completion when the course is complete. The course includes testable and non-testable readings, and successful completion involves passing three short examinations, one dealing with an historical battle, one dealing with tactics and one dealing with leadership.
The Academy has graduated many students in the past, and this success is expected to continue in the future.

Shireroth Explodes
Those elements already likely to kick up a fuss if something happened which really ticked them off (namely Duke Rakesh Ackbar of Brookshire and Duke Philip Locke of Hyperborea), were ticked off and kicked up a fuss, quite rapidly. They formed the Union for Progress, and (perhaps) PAST, although the author is unsure whether this is an organisation or some sort of maxim, and quickly displayed an overpowering ignorance of almost every political concept which has been fostered in Shireroth for the last couple of years, especially the infamous 'you have no rights, get used to it' philosophy.
People in Shireroth used to get resentful when compared to America, or when analogies were made using American comparisons, but only, admittedly, if these ticked Erik off. Now, just mention the words 'bourgeois republic', 'France', 'national assembly', 'rights', 'Prussia', 'federal' or a host of others, and you get a cheap fireworks display, courtesy of the new partisan pyrotechnical politics initiative in Shireroth.
The two 'sides', which have been named 'progressives' and 'conservatives', with both terms being used with pride and derision simultaneously, seem reluctant to find any common ground, at least without swearing rather immaturely at each other (admittedly this occurs far more frequently on one side than the other), or at least with some petty name-calling.
The idea came to both sides at once that they who produce the most legislation would then control the country. Unfortunately, either the progressives don't seem to be able to cope with the LawBook format, or their grand schemes are too massive to cope within its confining boundaries. Efforts to define ministries by the progressives, something which has been done in the past with no trouble whatsoever, have been met with howls of outrage, namely by those set to have 'their' ministries or institutions 'meddled with', and claims that the ministries were sacrosanct or above the Landsraad.
A casual observer, which the author must admit he is not, would perhaps comment that one side is finding their old weapons of complicity and unwritten laws fast becoming useless, and the other side is finding that the weapons they thought suitable for pursuing their campaign are fast flaking to show the rust underneath. The Praetor has ordered that no more bills be presented until he says so, has in fact done this twice, to cope with the further boom in legislation as his first order was removed, and has introduced another order stating that all bills must be in LawBook format.
Although amazement is forever being expressed at Shireroth's boom in activity, we must remember we were saying the exact same thing last year, when Kaiseress Aurefiction was in power. Gods willing though, the new Kaiser won't go out in a blaze of frustration, cursing all those who ever did anything and banning a person who is virtually a Shirerithian institution from taking power, comparisons must be drawn. There are rocky times ahead for Shireroth, the author is taking bets on three exiles and a public flogging, three to one, but only if the factions remain the same, though. The author takes no account for wild cards.

Aerlig Elections Return an Upset
The Liberal Republicans won two of the five seats in the National Parliament, and are now leading a minority government under the leadership of party leader Kevin, who has been yet to show up to accept the position. In the meantime, Deputy Prime Minister Zachary Klass has been leading the nation's affairs.
The win was an upset for the incumbent Prime Minister, Lachlan Powers, who had held the top position in government since the Republic's third Parliament back in 2001. Mr Powers, currently serving as Leader of the Opposition, has not given up on the nation, however, and is expected to be inducted this week as the Head of State, the Protector of the Republic.
News Shorts (17/06/04)
Feianova: Relations between Feianova and Antica have stalled, with the passage of an act in Feianova restricting citizens other than the Director of External Affairs from traveling to the nation. Feianova took the action in an attempt to limit activity in Antica.
Antica: Antica has moved onto heightened security this week for reasons which they do not appear to be sharing, even with their own security forces. They also appear to have received a new citizen in the form of a new micronationalist, a rarity these days.
